High winds have made it difficult to get offshore in the last few weeks. Nearshore fishing has been fantastic!! Larger kingfish, mackerel and sharks have been abundant within 3-4 miles off the beach. Many reports of pompano and sheepshead this week from people fishing off of Turtle beach and closer to Big Sarasota Pass. Gag grouper bite has been great if you can get a couple more miles out. Tripletail have begun to move in, and some larger fish were seen earlier this week thanks to that drop in temperature. Beach fishing can be productive, scattered snook and pompano can be easily targeted.
