Offshore fishing has been on absolute fire if you are able to get out. Amberjacks and kings in 80′ of water. If you’re able to get out even further the wahoo bite has been absolutely insane at about 130′. Several MORE sailfish reports this week as well. Now is the time to gear up for American Red Snapper!!  The season will open June 4th and run through July 28th, with a possible fall re opening as well. I recommend beginning to target these fish at around 30 mi. Spanish sardines and cigar minnows are usually the baits of choice and of course as long as they are available to us we will stock them!! Moving inshore, there are still plenty of permit on the wrecks as well as mangrove snappers and hogfish. Mark your good spots!! More and more reports of tarpon, still concentrated around the passes, probably another week until those larger schools start to move through. Snook have been plentiful off of the beaches, mainly Siesta Key and Lido Key. Also be sure to check your tides. A MOVING tide is always suggested. More bait moving around…more action! The redfish bite has been literally non stop and still seeing some LARGE trout in with the mix as well! As temps rise I always like to utilize the cooler time of the day…. night fishing for snook and juvenile tarpon off of the dock lights can be a blast. Flies are a go-to bait for those lights making a super lite presentation. As always we are to to help…feel free to ask questions. We are offering one of two FREE SEMINARS this month, this upcoming Monday, May 10th from 6-7pm. “Danyar Diving” will be here to discuss fundamentals and safety for Spearfishing & Free Diving 101!! See you then!
