Well with tarpon season at full swing for the past few weeks, it has started to slow down just a bit. Still a good amount of fish on the beach and congregating near the passes on the outgoing tides. This weeks moon phase should actually produce a nice push and bite! Tarpon are still crushing crabs but have defintely switched over more to a threadfin or pinfish bite. Red snapper are going strong offshore. You’ll want to start around 50mi out and work from there. Big red groupers and scamp are also being reported in that depth. Wahoo bite has been strong the past couple weeks! One of our own shop employees landing a 95lb fish about 40mi out. Some big permit are still being reported on the wrecks along with a few nice cobia and kingfish! We have had several reports of blackin tuna scattered near those depths also. The snook have been plentiful in the passes and on the beach! A live bait or white paddletail is suggested. White flies will work if youre throwing fly rods!! The redfish bite has really begun to heat up with a good amount of fish on the Sarasota Bay flats. Some juvenile tarpon reported in Palma Sola Bay, and nice trout in between. As always, stop in, let us know if you have any questions or concerns! Have a safe and happy Fourth of Juy weekend! We will be open on the Fourth until 2 pm! See you soon! Tight Lines
