Sheepshead have been the name of the game!! Higher winds and colder temps have made it more difficult to get offshore so many fishing guides and recreational fisherman have been targeting these guys for meat! They are crustacean eaters, so live shrimp are best. Though, small artificial crabs or shrimp will work. There are still some pompano around as well as a few smaller permit mixed in as well. After this last cold front we saw a substantial amount of keeper plus size triple tail!! Some right at the 30″ mark. Again, live shrimp will be best! We have been seeing some good numbers of snook and redfish in the bay. With colder temps and very clear water, you will want to move baits very slowly. Any golden bream, red glitter colored soft plastics will work! These can be rigged weed less as well which is very helpful in areas with a lot of grass or weeds. If you are able to get offshore, the mangrove snapper and red grouper bites have been amazing!! Stop in and check out all the newest rods and reels from Shimano and St.Croix! We also have an amazing Fly Fishing sections with fantastics rods from GLoomis, Hardy and TFO. As always, we are here for your questions!! Tight Lines!
